This one-of-a-kind, handmade collage is part of my FEBRUALLAGE 2023 collection—a set of works created for an international challenge using a daily prompt to create a new collage each day in February. This collage was prompted by the word: LIFE

 

This collage was inspired by the phrase "An apple a day keeps the doctor away" and a daily journaling habit. An illustration from Playboy, flowers from a picture book and a lush green circular backdrop are set on a petite stretched canvas covered in smudgy penciled journal entries. The wood frame is fitted with a wire for easy hanging.

All collages are made from found and recycled materials—they carry the story of their past (and some materials are very old)! This can mean discoloration, cracks, fading or other imperfections. It’s all part of the history of the art. To maintain the integrity of your collage, keep out of direct, sustained sunlight.
